I’m a Nebraska-based wedding photographer who lives for the in-between moments. The exhale after the vows. The look across the room. The detaisl that were made with love and almost missed. I've photographed over 100 weddings across Nebraska and beyond, and I show up to every single one ready to capture it all. When I'm not documenting life's most important moments, you can find me with my family, my houseplants, and an iced latte in hand.
Lacie knew two things from the very beginning: she wanted a bow on her dress, and she wanted a day small enough to actually live inside of. What followed was an intimate Legare Waring House Wedding in Charleston, South Carolina. Lacie and Austin’s vision was a Southern garden party, small enough that they’d never be far from each other’s side.
The Legare Waring House did most of the talking – large live oak trees draped with Spanish moss and warm garden lights. It only needed soft florals and french-styled furniture to become exactly what they’d dreamed of. A violinist played Taylor Swift’s Wildest Dreams as Lacie walked down the aisle, where their dog Cooper had a front-row seat. At their reception, Ben Key’s Fine Art revealed their live painting and Lacie’s grandmother ended up in the DJ booth. They ended their night with a private last dance before exiting with all of their guests congratulating them. This Charleston, South Carolina wedding was featured in Southern Bride Magazine – and if you scroll through the gallery below, you’ll understand exactly why.

Their wedding day began with so much anticipation as Lacie and Austin prepared for their big moment in separate areas. Lacie’s dress featured a stunning bow, a detail she had envisioned from the very start. The excitement grew during the first looks with the bridesmaids and family members, until finally it was time. When Lacie and Austin finally locked eyes, everyone had tears in their eyes, including me! It was a beautifully intimate moment where their emotions were literally palpable. Capturing these early moments is always one of my favorite parts to the day!

Next, in the gorgeous gardens of the Legare Waring House, I captured some stunning photos of the bride and groom. The natural beauty of the venue, enhanced by simple florals and french styled furniture, provided a perfect backdrop. The couple’s genuine happiness and love for each other radiated in every single shot, creating memories they will treasure forever!

The ceremony was everything they envisioned, an intimate moment with a talented violinist playing Taylor Swift (as requested by Lacie). Their nephews and flower girl brought adorable joy to the occasion. As they stood there exchanging vows, everyone felt the weight of their love. Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed a lively cocktail hour, mingling and celebrating with the newlyweds under a beautiful tent.

The reception was filled with so much laughter and joy. Highlighted by a fun moment when Lacie’s grandmother took over the DJ booth! Austin and Lacie chose a sweetheart table so they could savor every moment together and never be apart from each other’s side. The main goal for them was to be together all day long, just basking in the magic of their day. A special detail they included was using a Nebraska Husker’s football jersey with their last name on it and ’24’ (the year they got married) as a guest book! They have it hanging in their house!

Overall, Austin and Lacie’s Legare Waring House wedding day was a beautiful celebration of their love. When I asked Lacie what her favorite part of the day was, she said “Besides obviously marrying my favorite person, it was at the end of the evening. All the guests were heading out and Austin and I got to spend time together alone, and we just soaked in the venue, the day that we just had, and we talked about how it was absolutely perfect and we wouldn’t have changed a thing”. At heart of it all, your wedding day is about the two of you and nothing else. If things don’t go according to plan…embrace it! That’s where the magic really happens.
Documenting their joy and unique details was an absolute honor that I will never forget! For couples planning their big day, focus on what truly matters and enjoy every moment—it will be a day to remember forever!
