I’m a Nebraska based wedding photographer that craves those timeless and intimate moments. With over two years of experience and shooting over 50 weddings, you can trust I’ll never miss a moment. When I’m not capturing life’s most cherished memories you can usually find me spending time with my husband and son, tending to one of my many houseplants, or sipping an iced latte. I’m here to give you something that’ll bring you right back to the second in which it was captured.
Some couples just are the story. And with Hannah and Cole, their connection spoke volumes before the shutter even clicked. We planned this summer engagement session around places that felt familiar and meaningful to them, locations that held significance and memories! Hannah and Cole’s engagement session started at the stunning Nebraska State Capitol, then moved to a rooftop parking garage with their playful dogs Willow and Walnut! We finished the day at Pioneers Park, where they shared some of their favorite memories together. Each location perfectly captured different parts of their story and their connection. Let’s dive into Hannah and Cole’s Engagement Session At The Nebraska State Capitol and Pioneers Park!
Their story began like so many modern love stories do: on Hinge. But what followed was anything but typical. Hannah had set out to meet new people with no serious plans in mind….Cole, her very first date, quickly changed that. Something clicked. And even when life threw a whirlwind of unexpected health challenges their way in the first few months, Cole stayed. Steady. Present. Unshaken. The kind of partner who makes “for better or worse” feel like a promise already kept. Learning about their love made me that much more excited to capture Hannah and Cole’s engagement session at the Nebraska State Capitol and Pioneers Park.
A fun little full-circle moment? I actually met Hannah and Cole while photographing a wedding back in 2023. Cole was a groomsman, and Hannah was the bride’s personal attendant. She helped me wrangle family photo groupings with a copy of my shot list in hand, and we instantly clicked. So when they got engaged, Hannah reached out right away. She later told me that while she looked at other photographers, she knew I was the one because of how I worked that day—intentional, organized, calm—and how I made everyone feel. It means the world when couples notice those behind-the-scenes moments and trust me with their own day.
The Nebraska State Capitol provided a stunning backdrop for the first part of their session. Despite some nerves, Hannah and Cole’s chemistry felt absolutely effortless. This place matched perfectly with the beginning of their journey as an engaged couple ready to take on whatever life brings next. From the Capitol, we moved to a rooftop parking garage where the city skyline met the playful energy of their pups, Willow and Walnut! Watching Hannah and Cole interact with them showed their fun-loving side and how important those small everyday moments are to them. We wrapped up at Pioneers Park, a spot that holds a special place in Hannah and Cole’s story. They shared that some of their most cherished memories, like picnics and quiet afternoons, happened here.
What I loved most about photographing them was how grounded they are in one another. There’s this quiet joy between them, a sense of mutual respect and care that you can feel. And also? A lot of laughter. Whether it was teasing each other mid-pose or trying to wrangle Willow and Walnut, there wasn’t a moment that didn’t feel real and good. One of the sweetest things they shared with me in their questionnaire was what they want to remember 20 years from now: how much they laugh. That even in the middle of real life—disagreements, changes, hard conversations—they find each other through joy! That’s what I saw throughout this entire session. Glances that felt like inside jokes. Soft smiles that came easy. The kind of love that’s been built, brick by brick, through ordinary days and intentional choices.
Hannah and Cole’s Engagement Session At The Nebraska State Capitol and Pioneers Park was so much more than just beautiful images. It was about capturing the essence of who Hannah and Cole are together. From the grandeur of the State Capitol to the quiet trails of Pioneers Park, every moment reflected a love built on trust, joy, and real connection. It was an honor to document their story at these meaningful locations and to share in their excitement for the next chapter!
To Hannah and Cole, thank you for trusting me with these moments. Your story, your resilience, your playfulness, it’s all a reminder of what makes love worth capturing in the first place! I hope these photos bring you back to this season whenever you need it most: to Willow and Walnut running wild, to the way your hands found each other, to all the quiet in-betweens that said, “I’m home.”
