Every couple has their thing. For Alissa and Joey, it’s having fun no matter what they’re doing, even if it’s just watching 20/20 on the couch! Their energy is the kind that puts you at ease instantly, and spending a spring afternoon with them at Memorial Park felt less like work and more like catching up with old friends. The entire evening was such a relaxed and joy-filled reflection of who they are, making this Spring Engagement Session at Memorial Park in Omaha, Nebraska definitely one for the books!

A Simple Beginning with a Sweet Spark

Like many modern love stories, theirs started on Hinge back in 2022. But it didn’t take long before that first date turned into everything. One of the things they shared with me in their questionnaire was how grounded they feel in each other, how they can do something as small as an estate sale or as big as a Packers game and have the best time together! That balance of cozy and adventurous is what made their relationship truly blossom into what it is today… the step just before marriage! And that excitement translated beautifully into the session making it feel so energetic and full of love.

Soft Light, Fresh Blooms, and Real Connection

Memorial Park gave us the perfect setting: golden spring light, blooming trees, and wide open green that perfectly matched their energy! They brought two outfits, both totally them, and it went with the light aesthetic they were going for perfectly. And the way Joey looked at Alissa in each outfit? Let’s just say, no direction needed. From forehead kisses to playful teasing, they kept each other smiling the entire session. And can we talk about how much they clearly love simply being together?! It showed in every single frame!

The Everyday Magic Between Them

One of my favorite things about getting to know Alissa and Joey was hearing about the little rituals that ground their relationship. Joey kisses Alissa goodbye every morning before work. Alissa can count on Joey to check the doors each night because he knows it helps her feel safe. It’s those tiny acts, done daily, without fanfare, that reveal the deep love and care woven into their everyday life.

And honestly? That’s what this session felt like. Real, effortless love. No overly posed moments or anything too formal. Just two people who adore each other, soaking up a spring night in a place they love.

Before the session I asked them what they want to remember about their relationship 20 years from now, and their answer says everything: that they were always there for each other and always had fun… no matter what!

Why This Session Stood Out

Overall, spending the afternoon with Alissa and Joey was all the confirmation I need to believe that soulmates exist! They’ve built their relationship on shared experiences and intentional time together. They requested a mix of candid and posed shots, something that reflected who they are naturally, and that balance came to life so effortlessly in this session! Seeing their sweet connection and the way they look at each other? Pure gold.

Alissa and Joey’s Spring Engagement Session at Memorial Park in Omaha, Nebraska was a reminder of everything I love about what I do.
